Preparation: All participants need to be able to sit in a kayak for up to two hours. It is recommended that clothing be worn that will dry quickly should it become wet - like nylon or other synthetic fabric. Hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen are highly recommended. Food, snacks, and drinks are also essential. Dry bags will be provided for valuables such as binoculars, cameras, and car keys. Two hours of kayaking are physically equivalent to less than one hour of bicycling. Kayaking does not require strength as much as it does the desire to have fun on the water. Occasionally the weather makes it a bit challenging and one needs to be flexible. Keep in mind this is a water sport, while our goal is to keep you dry, one does occasionally get one's feet or seat wet.
Participants will be instructed on paddling and techniques of keeping dry.
